February 1, 2008DPR to Receive over 200 Laptops from Office of Thrift Supervision WASHINGTON, DC On Tuesday, February 5, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Director Clark E. Ray and others will be on hand to receive a donation of over 200 laptops from the Office of Thrift Supervision. The computers, Dell Latitude C840 notebooks, are being donated in effort to enhance the current technology offerings at DPR recreational facilities and will be distributed to pre-selected centers in all of the Districts eight wards.
John M. Reich, director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, stated, As a former community banker, I appreciate the importance of playing a positive role in the community where you work and live. I am gratified that these laptop computers will play a part in shaping the lives of young people in recreation centers across this city.
